About Scones

SecSoc

The Security Society of UNSW (SecSoc) presents the SecSoc Student Security Conference (SCONES).

Led by an executive student committee, the conference aims to get students curious, interested, and excited to learn more about cybersecurity by bringing students, educators, industry professionals, and security enthusiasts together.

The conference will be held in-person on June 25 2024 at the John Niland Scientia Building at UNSW Sydney

SecSoc

Led by an executive student committee, SecSoc is a key part of the security community within UNSW. We run a range of events and initiatives, industry sponsors, and student societies across Australia.

In the past, we have organised buses to security conferences, hosted and competed in capture-the-flag competitions, run social and networking events, and coordinated talks and workshops from students and industry professionals.

The network aims to address the growing need for cybersecurity professionals in today’s digitally invested world, by building industry capacity to battle the menace of cyber intrusions, identify theft, malware attacks and a host of other online perils. Cybersecurity educators teach a world class cybersecurity curriculum through undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as short courses and certificates.
